『バイオハザード4：アルティメットHDエディション』は、『バイオハザード4』のWindows向け2作目の移植版であり、今回はXbox 360版およびPlayStation 3版をベースに、グラフィックが刷新されています。 以前の移植版とは異なり、本バージョンではライティングエフェクトの追加、レンダリングされたカットシーンの代わりにリアルタイムのカットシーン（「セパレート・ウェイズ」キャンペーンを除く）、マウス操作のサポート、およびSteamworksとの連携が特徴となっています。
本バージョンには、最新のHDコンソール版の実績を含め、これまでに公開されたすべての追加コンテンツが収録されています。ゲームはSDおよびHD品質のテクスチャでプレイ可能で、フィルターオプションに加え、30FPSまたは60FPSから選択できるFPSロックオプションも追加されました。
