Dying Light è un gioco d’azione survival horror in prima persona ambientato in un vasto e pericoloso mondo aperto. Durante il giorno, i giocatori attraversano un vasto ambiente urbano invaso da una feroce epidemia, setacciando il mondo alla ricerca di provviste e fabbricando armi per difendersi dalla crescente popolazione di infetti. Di notte, il cacciatore diventa la preda, poiché gli infetti diventano aggressivi e ancora più pericolosi. I più spaventosi sono i predatori che compaiono solo dopo il tramonto. I giocatori devono usare ogni mezzo a loro disposizione per sopravvivere fino alle prime luci dell’alba.
