Assassin’s Creed Unity é um jogo de ação e aventura ambientado em Paris durante a Revolução Francesa. O jogador controla Arno Dorian, um Assassino que busca desvendar as forças por trás da agitação política. O jogo apresenta novas armas, incluindo a Lâmina Fantasma, uma Lâmina Oculta modificada com capacidade de ataque à distância.
A jogabilidade enfatiza a furtividade, o parkour e o combate corpo a corpo, apresentando mecânicas atualizadas de corrida livre e um sistema de combate revisado. O cenário de mundo aberto recria a Paris do século XVIII e inclui eventos históricos como a tomada da Bastilha e a execução do rei Luís XVI. Unity também inclui um modo multijogador cooperativo com suporte para até quatro jogadores.
