『The Inquisitor』は、1500年代のパラレルワールドを舞台にした、ストーリー重視のダーク・ルネサンス風アクションアドベンチャー・ミステリーゲームです。 この世界では、イエスは十字架上で死ななかった。その代わりに、彼は磔刑から脱出し、自分を信じなかった者たちに対して血なまぐさい復讐を繰り広げた。数世紀が経過し、今や熱狂的な異端審問官たちの軍団が、ヨーロッパに根を下ろしたこの血に飢えた教会の信仰を、残忍な手段で強要している。
