『ペルソナ5 ロイヤル』は、現代の東京を舞台にしたターン制RPG『ペルソナ5』の拡張版です。プレイヤーは、「ハートの怪盗団」と呼ばれる秘密の正義の集団を率いる高校生となり、パレスと呼ばれる超自然的なダンジョンを探索し、堕落した大人たちの心を変えていきます。 本作は、ダンジョン探索やターン制バトルに加え、ソーシャルシミュレーション要素を融合させており、プレイヤーは1学年の間に日々の活動を管理し、人間関係を築き、キャラクターのステータスを成長させていきます。『ロイヤル』版では、オリジナル版に新キャラクター、第3学期、追加のパレス、新楽曲、そして拡張されたストーリーコンテンツが追加されています。

Persona 5 Royal follows the story of a Japanese high-school student as he is pulled into a fantasy world that mirrors the real one. Using powers granted by the Metaverse, the protagonist and his friends work as a group of thieves to enter the subconscious of various antagonists to steal a treasure which forces a change of heart in the real world.
